How to migrate your WhatsApp data from iPhone to Samsung phone

WhatsApp is one of the widely used social media apps across the globe. When a user wants to restore their data while transferring it from an iOS device to a Samsung phone there are certain procedures that need to be followed. The account information like individual chats, profile photos, group chats, chat history, media and settings can only be transferred. But the call history and display name cannot be done. The transfer can be done only for personal messages, but not for peer-to-peer payment messages. The call history cannot shift from an iPhone to a Samsung device.

STEPS TO MIGRATE FROM IPHONE TO SAMSUNG:

Step 1: A user will have to turn on the Samsung device and connect it with a cable to the iOS device when prompted.

Step 2: Next, follow the Samsung smart switch experience.

Step 3: Once the prompt is over, scan the QR code displayed on the new device using the iPhone’s camera.

Step 4: Click on start on your iPhone and wait for the process to be over.

Step 5: Recommence setting up the new Samsung.

STEP 6: ONCE AT THE HOME SCREEN, RESTART WHATSAPP BY LOGGING IN TO THE SAME PHONE NUMBER USED ON THE OLD DEVICE.

Step 7: Tap on Import by allowing the process to be completed.

Step 8: Finish the activating of the new device set up and you will find the chats.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEVICE VERSION:

  • Samsung SmartSwitch app version 3.7.22.1 or greater version downloaded on your new device.
  • The iOS version of WhatsApp 2.21.160.17 or higher is needed on the old device.
  • The android version of WhatsApp should be 2.21.16.20 or greater on the new device.
  • USB-C to lightning cables for equivalent adapters should be adopted.
  • The phone number must be the same for the new device as well as for the old ones.
  • The android device needs to be factory new or the user must reset to factory settings.

Note: The old device will have data until the time it's wiped out or deleted from WhatsApp.

Facebook, Instagram to allow users to hide 'likes'

NEW DELHI: Social networking giant Facebook on Wednesday said it will now allow users on its platform as well as those on Instagram

to hide their public 'like' counts.

This is part of the company's efforts to give people control over their experience, a statement said.

"We tested hiding like counts to see if it might depressurise people's experience on Instagram. What we heard from people and experts was that not seeing like counts was beneficial for some, and annoying to others, particularly because people use like counts to get a sense for what's trending or popular, so we're giving you the choice," it said.

Everyone on

Instagram and Facebook

will now have the option to hide their public 'like' counts so that they can decide what works for ......

Cloudflare wants to kill CAPTCHAs so you never have to identify fire hydrants or traffic lights again

The company says it will save 500 human years that are wasted every single day by a total of 4.6 billion Internet users, while people "prove their humanity".

One of the most frustrating things about browsing the web is having to solve compulsory CAPTCHA challenges on websites that are designed to differentiate between real users and bots. If you’re tired of attempting bothersome requests to identify “boats” in a picture, here is some good news – American web security and network services provider Cloudflare says it wants to completely get rid of the service.

CAPTCHA, or Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart, has actually helped several websites protect themselves from bots and automated services from flooding their systems and protecting them from being overloaded to deny services to real, human users.
